No board election in Sun City West

Three residents file for three positions

Three candidates submitted petitions for the three open positions on the Recreation Centers of Sun City West governing board. Organization bylaws state under such conditions those three people will be appointed to the board and an election will not be conducted.

Each candidate submitted petitions with significant signatures of owner residents and had been declared eligible to serve by members of the RCSCW election committee.

The three will assume their new terms July 1 and will fill vacancies created by the departure of governing board members Jim Sloan, Tim Hurley and Bryan Walus.

The new members are Anne Brown, Roberta Davidson and Sharon Hettick.

Ms. Brown and her husband moved to Sun City West in 2011 from Springfield, MO.

“I have no personal agenda. My desire is to keep Sun City West a viable healthy community,” she said.

Ms. Davidson has lived in Sun City West since 2010. A graduate of the TORCH program, she served on the properties committee and currently is a member of the special CC&R Committee. While she and her husband lived in California she served as president of a master-planned community of 4,800 homes.

Ms. Hettick is a 14-year resident of Sun City West and active in clubs and other activities. She is on the board of Northwest Valley Connect.

“My strength is as an implementer—someone who can make community plans and budgets work in a practical manner,” she said.

The three new members will join George Kuchtyak, Gerry Connor, sue Fitzsimons, Bob Carneiro, Donna Maloney and Jim Young on the governing board.
