“Wildflowers,” needle-turn appliqued by the Palo Verde Patcher’s Circle of Friends quilt group (Ann Anderson, Yvonne Lange, Joyce Linroth, Isabelle Margeson, Jan McKemy, Julie Peck, Phyllis Samuelson and Alice Wilkinson), is now on display at the R.H. Johnson Library.
This pattern was designed by Pearl Pereira and chosen by the group because there were multiple blocks to make. The ladies chose their own fabrics for their individual block with a common fabric for the background. A few were challenged because they had never tried this applique technique before making these blocks. It took them about a year to finish this quilt and have it machine quilted by Cyndi Morgan.
The Circle of Friends group has been together for 12 years.
