Michael, age 65, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Tuesday, August 6th at Ryan Hospice House in Phoenix, AZ, surrounded by family and friends.A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 15th at 2:30 p.m. at Sun Valley Lodge Retirement Community, 12415 W. 103rd Ave. in Sun City. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. Funeral services will also be held by Michael's family in Chicago on September 7th. Michael spent most of his career as a health care administrator caring and advocating for seniors, most recently serving as the Executive Director at Sun Valley Lodge for 18 years. At a very early age, he knew he wanted to care for seniors. He was inspired by his loving relationship with his grandma Stella. Often, he could be seen walking through the community hugging and greeting each resident and employees by name.Friends, family, employees and residents alike will remember him fondly for his advocacy, compassion, leadership, and sense of humor.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sun Valley Lodge for a fund in honor of Michael L. Fahey.
