Carmen, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024 after a brief illness. She was 95. Born in North Tarrytown, New York, Carmen was known for her sparkling energy and cheery good humor. She had a special affinity and talent for cards and games, which she relished playing with her many friends in the two Phoenix-area communities where she lived for the past three decades. Carmen is survived by her three children, Meg, Allison, and Gus and their spouses, her three cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, and Phoebe, and her countless friends, who will miss her infectious spirit. A celebration of Carmen’s life will be held after the new year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 14066 W. Waddell Rd., Surprise, AZ 85379, which provided a serene resting place in her last days. Carmen will be deeply missed but long remembered for the joy she brought to those lucky enough to know her.
