Making the case against privatizing Sun City West golf courses

Posted

In response to Joel Moskowitz’s suggestion to privatize Recreation Centers of Sun City West golf courses, I don’t think he understands how private courses and our courses operate.

By privatizing our courses, golf fees would increase dramatically and open up our courses for more outside play.

Many who have retired here and on fixed income would no longer be able play, or not as much. Outside golf management operates for profit and we would have no control over fees. Yes, residents’ dues pay for our golf courses, but we bring in revenue to cover it.

As for solar, there is a major cost involved, and the payback would not come until most of us are long gone to that tee box in the sky.
