Mac-Cro-Knit Club readies for fall, winter activities

The Mac-Cro-Knit Club will welcome back its winter visitor members at a luncheon Thursday, Oct. 20. At the September business meeting, it was reported that club membership has increased to 92, which includes 31 new members since January.

Annual dues are $5. There is a small, one-time charge for a club badge, which must be worn at club functions. Members are expected to monitor a workshop once a year.

The club will hold its next monthly general business meeting 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. There will be numerous committee reports and president Janet Lennon will preside.

Club members are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes for the Thursday, Oct. 27, workshop. The costumes can be as simple or elaborate as the mood dictates.

The club is also gathering toys for the annual Christmas donation project. Special bags in Christmas colors are being knitted or crocheted by members. The filled bags will be given to homeless families.

Club workshops are twice a week, 8-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. “How to” lessons are available when requested. Each workshop features a “Show and Tell” session so members can see completed projects and discuss the skills and patterns involved. Workshops are in Room 3/Pueblo Room, Kuentz center. Guests are always welcome.

Call Janet Lennon at 623-687-7397, visit knit.scwclubs.com or check out the club’s Facebook page. “Mac-Cro-Knit Sun City West.”
