Groups participate in school’s event for Constitution Day

The Constitution Day event at Canyon Ridge Elementary School drew a large number of local and statewide groups.

Members of Arizona Daughters of the American Revolution, Agua Fria Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, Saguaro and Prescott chapters, Liberty Ladies of Sun City West and Sun City Grand and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2135 participated in the Surprise school’s event.

Arrangements were made with The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to provide seven “Becoming the United States” exhibit panels to be displayed for the students. The seven panels were entitled Colonial America, American Revolution, U.S. Constitution, Westward Migration, Native Cultures, The Civil War and Reconstruction.

Members from the different organizations discussed the information exhibited on the panels with the students from the visiting classes.
