Sun City West author and psychologist Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney wrote “The Mind of Oswald” in 2000, about Lee Harvey Oswald. She was working at Parkland Hospital as a psychiatric nurse when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Since she was studying psychology, she was asked earlier to do psychological testing on Mr. Oswald’s other target, Maj. Gen. Edwin Walker. The book contains a bit about Mr. Oswald shooting at Mr. Walker. Attorney General Robert Kennedy ordered the major to be evaluated when he ordered troops to interfere with integration of the University of Mississippi, so the chairman of psychiatry asked Dr. Cheney to do the testing on him, which was returned to Atttorney General Kennedy.

Dr. Cheney used to give talks about this subject but now wants her extra books to be given out to people who have an interest in this subject. They can be picked up every day from a box at her front door, 10402 N. 150th Ave., Sun City West.

She will place the books by her front door from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until they are all picked up.

Dr. Cheney wrote the book after being the drug czar of Dallas where she had access to all documents retrieved by police when they arrested Mr. Oswald and went to his wife’s house as well as his own apartment. This book fills in the history of the young man who was accused of killing President Kennedy and was himself killed by Jack Ruby. She wrote about Mr. Ruby as well as Mr. Oswald and appeared on radio and television talking about their lives in past years.

Those who want the book personalized can ring the doorbell and if Dr. Cheney is home, she will sign and endorse the book to the desired person/s.
