Ukulele master and ambassador of aloha, Jake Shimabukuro, brings joy to the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts, 1090 S. Vulture Mine Road, with his holiday show “Christmas in Hawaii,” 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29.

With only four strings, Shimabukuro is hailed as the “Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele” and his mission is to connect and inspire people.

Shimabukuro delivers performances with an out-of-the-box blend of stunning virtuosity, deep musicality and a natural entertainer’s flair. For more than 15 years, the internationally known artist has combined elements of jazz, blues, funk, rock, bluegrass, classical, folk, and flamenco to create original compositions and re-imagined beloved classics.

For this special Christmas program, Shimabukuro, along with bassist Jackson Waldhoff and special guests, singer-songwriter Thunderstorm Artis on vocals, and first-call percussionist Taku Hirano, will spread good cheer through their live show and fun take on the holidays. They will perform signature concert favorites and selections from the newest album, “Jake & Friends,” along with a vibrant catalog of holiday hits such as “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer,” “O Holy Night,” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”

Shimabukuro’s love for people, the spirit of the season and his cherished home of Hawaii will add to the merriment and keep spirits bright.

Tickets for this in-person concert start at $35 for adults and $5 for youth. They are available at dewpac.org or by calling the Webb Center Box Office at 928-684-6624. The health and safety of audience members, performers, volunteers and staff continues to be of utmost importance.
