Residents urged to use fragrances sparingly

Allergic reaction

Thanks for this, my husband is allergic to perfume. — Janalou Zullo

Air fresheners

I challenge anyone with an uncompromised sense of smell to walk through the R.H. Johnson Library without noticing the overwhelming use of toxic hazardous air “fresheners.” Is it just me? — Treza Hassa

Cheap spray

A lot of times it’s the cheap hair spray that some of our salons use here in Sun City West. — Shelley Luobikis Giles

Much more

It’s not only cheap products. I’m one of the people sensitive to fragrances. People say they don’t use cologne, but they do use body lotion, hand cream, hair products — even deodorants with fragrances. Even Downey if offensive to some and they now have crystals that will make the smell last longer. — Arlene Walk Williams

Real problem

I’m sorry that I have serious medical reactions to many scents, smoke and bad air. It has placed limits on my life. Unfortunately, some people consider my situation and the same situation for many others a problem that in no way affects them. These are the people that wear perfume and other heavy scents in public places and create environments that require those of us with these sensitivities to limit our participation in many of the activities in Sun City West. I’m asking that people consider forgoing perfume and other scents when they attend movies, plays and other entertainment options in Sun City West. Your consideration would be appreciated. Thank you. — Judy Reed
