This letter is a response to the opinion letter in the Sept. 20 Independent. “Amazed at those defending Trump.”
When Trump was in office, the U.S. was energy independent for the first time. Gas was $2.89 per gallon in our area.
People in Portland and Seattle weren’t afraid to go back to their home towns. No one was allowed to walk out of a store carrying hundreds of dollars in merchandise.
We weren’t sending billions of dollars to the Ukraine. Why? I checked my home and garage, couldn’t find one item that said, “Made in the Ukraine.”
Biden sent $700 to some people in Maui, then the same afternoon, wrote out a check for $200 million more to Ukraine.
Home mortgages were less than half of what they are today.
Children weren’t allowed, or encouraged, to change their sex.
Men were kept out of “women’s” sports.
The writer of the article used a pen name, but I think I know who it is. They are one of those persons riding around in an air-conditioned car, with a mask on!
