Group brings roots of Doo Wop to Surprise
Vista Center for the Arts hosts concert
Posted
The Doo Wop Project performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at The Vista Center for the Arts, 15660 N. Parkview Place.
This group begins at the beginning: tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today.
In their shows, The Doo Wop Project features foundational tunes from the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through the vocal artistry of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons all the way to DooWopified versions of modern hits from Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and Sam Smith.
The group features stars from the Broadway hits “Jersey Boys,” “Motown: The Musical,” and “A Bronx Tale.” This performance is supported by an award from the city of Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission.
This is the final performance at the Vista before its 2023-24 season is announced. Purchase tickets here.
