The four offices that were able to open — Peoria Community Center, Sun City Community Assistance Network, Sun City West Foundation and Sun City Posse were able to file more than 3,500 returns that generated more than $3 million of federal refunds and more than $800,000 of state refunds that were an infusion of money for the local economy.
As district coordinator I want to thank each volunteer who worked this season. AARP had very strict social distancing requirements that made the return preparation process cumbersome at best. The dedication and hard work was appreciated and was the key factor in our successful year.
I lastly want to thank each of the sponsoring organization — Peoria Community Center, Sun City Community Assistance Network, Sun City West Foundation and the Sun City Posse who stepped in for Westbrook Village Community Center. Their willingness to allow AARP to operate and their support and cooperation was vital for our successful season.
