The Rip ‘N’ Sew club is again welcoming youngsters to its free Spring Sewing Camp.
Two of the 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday camps remain: April 9 and April 23. Camp is open to grandchildren of members of the Sun City West Recreation Centers.
Camp events include playing bingo, sewing machine practice time, choosing a project kit, creating a drawstring bag and having a snack.
Ashlyn Thrush, 8, attended the March camp session. Rip ‘N’ Sew member Janet Thrush registered her granddaughter. Ashlyn attended Rip ‘N’ Sew’s camp last year, too.
As for a 2026 camp, Janet Thrush said, “She’s ready to come back.”
Visit the club to register grandchildren ages 6 to 12 for this year’s sewing camp. Club hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Bring A recreation center card. A monitor can help with registration.
Rip ‘N’ Sew is in the R.H. Johnson Rec Center courtyard by the CC&R office.
