I have seen more people walking in the street these past few weeks! What are they thinking?
Could someone teach these people that sidewalks are for walking, streets are for motorized vehicles? Last week as I drove down Limousine, just before R.H. Johnson, there were a couple (heavy set woman and a man). This couple of size are walking side by side taking up most of the northbound lane. There was an unusual amount of traffic on Limousine that morning and traffic in the northbound lane had to get over to the southbound lane to avoid hitting these two people.
What were these people thinking? Walking in the street they figure will hold their weight more than the sidewalk?
Then every evening after dusk another couple seem to have to walk on Verde Ridge Drive in the middle of the right lane wearing reflected jackets. Guess these jackets are worn so cars can see they are using the street rather than the sidewalk and a warning to the cars facing them that they are in the street! At least they know enough to walk facing the traffic, but don’t know enough that the street is for motorized vehicles, and the sidewalk is for people! I’m sure if any of these careless people should ever get hit they will claim it’s the driver’s fault.
I see animals walk in the street, but they don’t know the difference. Why are taxpayer dollars being spent for sidewalks that are not used?
