The last Wednesday Night Alive series concert at American Lutheran Church of Sun City, 17200 W. Del Webb Blvd., is 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, featuring a performance by High Strung.
High Strung plays “old time” music, sometimes called the music of Appalachia, and the quartet includes a mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, guitar and vocals. They perform regularly at the Glendale Folk Festival.
Following the program, at 5 p.m., there will be a meal of fried chicken and sides. The 4 p.m. program is free, but the meal costs $12. To attend the dinner, buy a ticket in advance no later than noon the preceding Monday, March 20. One need not attend the meal to attend the 4 p.m. performance.
Contact the church at 623-974-2512 oralcsuncity.org for more information about the program or how to purchase a meal ticket. Following the dinner, there will be a Lenten service using the Holden Evening Prayer.
Wednesday Night Alive will resume the first Wednesday of November with a new season of music and educational programs that are free and open to the public.
