The Thunderbirds, hosts of the WM Phoenix Open, are hosting blood drives from Jan. 1-12 at multiple locations in the West Valley, offering free tickets for donors.
In partnership with Vitalant, there will be donation locations in Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tolleson and West Phoenix, according to a press release.
More blood transfusions are required in January than during any other month of the year, the release noted. That’s why The Thunderbirds and Vitalant have stepped up to make sure that 2025 starts out on par for patients across Arizona.
Valley donors will receive a voucher for a free specific-day ticket to the WM Phoenix Open in appreciation for replenishing Arizona’s blood supply following the holiday season, the release explained.
Honored as the PGA TOUR Tournament of the Year, the WM Phoenix Open will be held Feb. 3-9 at the TPC Scottsdale.
What’s more, donors who give blood now through Jan. 7 will also receive an exclusive 90s decades-themed T-shirt and a $15 Vitalant Rewards gift card. Learn more at vitalant.org/holiday90sdonor.
