Twila Lobitz, vice regent of the Sun City Agua Fria National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter, was surprised at her home with the presentation of the Arizona DAR Outstanding Volunteer Information Specialist of the Year Award April 21, received from Arizona’s DAR state regent Marilou Fellman.
Ms. Lobitz was interrupted from a conference call, which she was conducting with her VIS committee, to answer her door. To receive the VIS award, an application was submitted by chapter regent Shirley Staggs and several letters of recommendation for Ms. Lobitz stating why she should receive the award. Normally, this award would have been given at the Arizona DAR spring conference but because of the COVID-19 virus the conference was cancelled and held virtually.
Ms. Lobitz was responsible for revising the public and members only ASDAR websites, presenting an ASDAR VIS workshop for Arizona DAR members and creating of the ASDAR Private Facebook Page and Instagram account. She also created the Agua Fria chapter’s public website, aguafriaarizonadar.weebly.com.
