The Scrapbooking, Papercraft & More club recently hosted a Valentine’s themed make-and-take workshop at the R.H. Johnson library where participants made two cards and a pocket-sized embellished matchbox-like treat holder. Members of SPAM were on hand to assist.
A couple of the participants enjoyed themselves so much they dropped by the club room the following week. Carol Accacian, SPAM’s New Member Orientation Coordinator, demonstrated how to use metal dies with a die cutting machine to a visitor.
A workshop using metal dies as stencils in combination with the coordinating paper die cut was provided by Karen Manthey.
During an all-day weekend crop, while members worked on personal projects, Kristi Bibbi demonstrated her Scan-and-Cut machine; members watched in awe as the machine precisely cut-out hand stamped and printed images, thereby eliminating the need to “fussy cut” images by hand.
SPAM meets in Beardsley center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (4-9 p.m./winter), Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
