Church continues mission, outreach activities

Posted

Lakeview United Methodist Church, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., is continuing its mission and outreach activities throughout the pandemic. There are five main programs where any community assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The collection of 2021 calendars, to be distributed to residents of care centers in the area, continues. All calendars should be brought to the church office by Friday, Dec. 11 and they will be passed out before the end of the year.

Toilet paper, full-size bottles of body wash and small packets of tissue are needed for the JUSTA Center, a place for homeless senior citizens.

Silverware, small pots and pans, dishes, glasses, cups and cases of water are being collected for MANA House, a center for male veterans.

Canned food donations are being taken for the Valley View Food Bank.

Wash cloths, hand towels, and bars of soap are needed for the Crafty Crafters organization at Lakeview, who are making soap pouches for the homeless in Phoenix.

Call the church office at 623-974-5821. Office hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday. When donating items, masks must be worn inside the church building and office areas.
