The Sanctuary Choir of First Baptist Church, 17419 N. Conquistador Drive, will perform a patriotic musical, “Celebrate America!” 5 p.m. Sunday, June 29.
There will also be a complimentary “All-American” indoor picnic immediately following the concert, featuring grilled hot dogs with all the trimmings.
“Celebrate America!” was created by Dennis and Nan Allen of Lifeway Worship in Nashville. The musical focuses on “Remembering Our Heritage … Praying for our Future,” with old, familiar songs like “America, the Beautiful,” along with new numbers such as “Prayer for America.”
The narration honors God for His gift of a new nation.
Directed by Minister of Worship Nancy Jakes, First Baptist’s 35-plus voice choir regularly performs musicals for Easter, Independence Day and Christmas.
“Our choir works hard, and people attending this musical will be reminded of how blessed we are to live in America,” said Jakes. “Everyone is invited. Please plan to attend!”
