Cancer Treatment Centers of America Phoenix, part of a national oncology network, is expanding its care offerings in partnership with one of Arizona’s most respected orthopedic practices, The CORE Institute.

Dr. Amalia De Comas and Dr. Andre Hagevik will now be treating patients at CTCA Phoenix, 14200 W. Celebrate Life Way, Goodyear.

Dr. De Comas is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in adult and pediatric musculoskeletal oncology. Her background includes a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the world-renowned MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. At CTCA she will focus on treating patients with cancers of the bone and soft tissue.

Dr. Hagevik is a board certified and fellowship trained neurologist with a special interest in neurophysiology. Dr. Hagevik completed his fellowship, residency and internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 350 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix. He obtained his medical degree and PhD from the University of Missouri, Columbia. At CTCA, Dr. Hagevik will play a critical role in managing issues directly related to intracranial disease and tumors affecting the spinal cord. Additionally, patients will benefit from his expertise in managing side effects of cancer treatments.

“The CORE Institute has always taken an evidence-based approach to orthopedic care and we know CTCA shares these values,” said Dr. De Comas. “Many patients trust CTCA with their oncology care, so we wanted to help ensure that patients with cancers of the bone or soft tissue had access to the highest quality of care at a facility they already knew and trusted.”

Dr. De Comas and Dr. Hagevik are now seeing patients at CTCA and appointments can be scheduled by calling CTCA’s scheduling department at 844-940-2492. Both physicians will also remain in practice at their respective locations at The CORE Institute in Mesa and Sun City.
