Personal background
Born in Moses Lake, Washington, I resided there and raised my two wonderful boys, now grown men. They are my pride and joy. Austin is my oldest and he took the plunge and moved to Arizona last year. He has landed his dream job as a diesel mechanic after six years in the Navy. Caleb, my youngest, is 26 and resides in Washington with his spouse Brandon. They currently work for Boeing and would love to adopt twins someday.

Professional background
While going to high school I attended beauty school through a vocational program. I was able to complete my courses before I graduated from high school, which led me to my profession as a hairdresser. At age 18, I was self employed and running my own hairstyling business. From there I went back to beauty school to become an instructor of cosmetology. There were several salons I had worked at including owning my own home salon, assisted living salon and now I live in Arizona and own a suite.
Services
My services include women’s haircuts, highlights, color, perms and updos.
What I like most about doing business
I love each and everyone of my loyal clients. Most of them are retired and they are just enjoying their lives, no drama, just a lot of great conversations and fun times in my salon chair.
Previous occupation
I actually ran an assisted living in Moses Lake for nine years.
What am I promoting?
I have changed locations and I want my snowbirds to know that I opened up my new suite Hair by Amanda, 15142 W. Bell Road.
What I am excited about and why?
I will be carrying top of the line products. Kevin Murphy products are known for natural ingredients. His products speak for themselves. It has been said that Kevin Murphy products are like skin care for the hair. This company supports breast cancer awareness and it is also a very green company. They recycle their packagings, which leads to less landfills.
Favorite community cause and why
I have headed up a single mom community outreach through my church in Moses Lake. We distributed bags of goodies like shampoo, conditioner, etc. We also gave free haircuts and oil changes to single parents in our community. While here in Arizona I would like to give back to veterans in the community.
Interest and hobbies
Hairstyling, anything to do with water, boating, paddle boarding, wake boardings, flow boarding, lifting weights, playing piano and singing.
My guiding philosophy
You are the architect of your life.
My advice to youth
It is much more efficient to go through a trade school for two years than accumulate a load of debt going to a university for four. After that initial two year you would be starting your way to a career, no matter what you choose, keep educating your self, knowledge is power!
