Blue Star Moms focus of Sun City West event

Blue Star Moms of the Southwest Valley will be the focus of an event hosted by Mutual of Omaha Bank in Sun City West.

The event is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Mutual of Omaha Bank, 19432 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Robert Wilson, also known as Rockin’ Robert.

Attendees are ask to pack up items to donate to U.S. military deployed overseas and bring them to the event. RSVPs are required by Friday, Jan. 11. The event will also include food, drinks, music, networking and fun.

Blue Star Moms started in 1942 during World War II, the group was then chartered by Congress in 1960. The Blue Star Moms send monthly packages from home to U.S. troops deployed overseas. Packages are sent to members in all branches of U.S. service. The group is seeking donations of food, snacks, clothing, personal items, entertainment and specialty items.
