Benevilla is hosting a free drive-thru flu shot clinic 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24 at its main campus, 16752 N. Greasewood St.
The event is free and open to the public.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get their flu shots this year,” said Joanne Thomson, president and CEO of Benevilla. “Offering free flu vaccine at our convenient location is crucial for our aging communities and their families and is one important thing we can do to ease their minds during the COVID pandemic.”
With COVID-19 and the upcoming flu season overlapping, county health officials say it is more important than ever to get vaccinated against influenza this year. Health officials are worried about a “double surge” in the coming months where hospitals are overwhelmed by having to care for both flu patients and COVID-19 patients.
Influenza and COVID are respiratory illnesses with similar symptoms, such as congestion, cough and fever.
This free drive-thru clinic is in partnership with Native Health and is open to all ages.
