The Auto Restoration Club of Sun City West gathered to celebrate the Fourth of July in grand style. More than 150 club members, including their spouses and guests, filled the ARC building July 4 for a luncheon. The main course of hamburgers, brats, buns and beverages was provided by the club. Club members brought the rest of the traditional holiday food. A wide array of salads, pork and beans and desserts rounded out the buffet.
Members honored the holiday tradition by wearing their best red, white and blue attire.
Prior to the meal, members stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. After that, Tom Jones led everyone in a prayer to recognize and give thanks for all their freedoms.
Up until 2 p.m., members shared their individual memories of this special holiday with each other. New friendships were made and old friendships were rekindled during another wonderful social event from ARC.
All then went on to enjoy the rest of their day and prepare for watching the area fireworks that night.
