The American Association of University Women, Northwest Valley, celebrated their first Summer Survivor luncheon at Angela’s Kitchen. There were about 50 ladies attending the gathering, which included conversation and a meal of chopped salad with chicken or BLT sandwiches and cupcakes provided by hostesses Rosemary Dougherty and Sharon Phleps.

Summer Survivor luncheons are the third Thursday of each month from May to August.

The next AAUW general meeting will be Sept. 16 at the Sun City West Foundation. General meetings are every third Thursday from September to April.

Membership is open to anyone holding an associate degree, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
