AAUW meeting to focus on school safety

The next general meeting of the American Association of University Women, Northwest Valley, is 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Sun City West Foundation, Webb Room, 14465 R.H. Johnson Blvd.
The topic is school safety and guest speaker is Will Humble, executive director for the Arizona Public Health Association and a long-time public health enthusiast.
Humble’s 40 years in public health include more than two decades at the Arizona Department of Health Services, where he served in various roles including as the director from 2009 to 2015.
AAUW provides the opportunity to join a circle of women intent upon breaking through educational and economic barriers to enable women and girls to enjoy success in their community and personal lives.
Membership is open to anyone holding an associates degree, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
