Zumba club celebrates 10 years in Sun City

Posted

Ten years of Zumba classes in Sun City will be celebrated 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Sundial Auditorium.

“We are very excited to have reached this milestone with the Recreation Centers in Sun City,” said club president Jan Taylor.

As the person overseeing the Zumba classes, Taylor is proud of the growth in the last decade.

“We started out with 20 in a class, today we have 10 Zumba classes weekly and over 460 members,” Taylor added, noting “classes are geared to have fun while moving. We want to make this fun while fundraising to help local people.”

Admission is two food items or $1. All food collected will go to the Valley View Food Bank. Any money collected will go towards making holiday baskets for seniors in Sun City nursing homes who have no family.

Those attending can win one of 10 door prizes for 10 cents; the total amount of the 10 door prizes is $470. There is also a silent auction of 10 items, both new and gently used, with values up to $250. Tickets are $10 for 10 tickets.

There will also be free cake, water and a free gift to the first 150 members and guests.
