Whisperball: Beat a club member, win Sun City meal discount
Posted
The Whisperball Club of Sun City is hosting an open invitation to win 10 percent off any two meals at George’s Bell Cafe, 10502 W. Thunderbird Blvd., to any RCSC cardholders in good standing who can win a one-on-one Whisperball play against one of its members.
Whisperball is a slowed-down version of racquetball, played with a Nerf-like foam ball.
“The game of Whisperball (formerly Wacquetball) is similar to racquetball but is designed to slow the game down for seniors, handicapped, and younger kids,” whisperball.com notes. “Whisperball is fun, great exercise and can be very competitive. A foam Whisperball is used to help slow the game down and does not hurt when hit like a racquetball.”
Sun City resident Rick Steiner has been growing the local club.
“The big difference between racquetball and this is the ball, of course,” Mr. Steiner told the Independent last summer. “Secondly, you have up to two bounces to hit rather than just one. You definitely have to hit it after two bounces.”
There is no limit on the number of times a resident can win the club’s challenge. Club dues are $10 annually.
The challenge offer is good throughout February.
