In response to safe physical distancing during COVID-19 precautions, West Valley Arts Council, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, Suite 102, Surprise, announced that the Arts HQ Gallery is now online in a new virtual experience.

“Experience the beautifully curated show in a new and exciting way via virtual tours at www.westvalleyarts.org/arts-hq-current-exhibit,” a West Valley Arts news release from March 30 stated. “Our current exhibit, the Vanguard Artists Exhibit, is a colorful collection of eclectic styles and mediums curated by the Vanguard Artists, a local West Valley art group.”

West Valley Arts Council is also introducing a new social media campaign to connect residents to the arts from the comfort of their own home. Each weekday will present a different theme that will feature the many facets of the arts in the West Valley.

On Mondays the council will introduce art films and documentaries that entertain while highlighting the importance of art through a series entitled “Art Captured!” On Tuesdays and Thursdays, residents have an opportunity to “Learn Something New” through local artists’ tutorials and classes.

The council also encourages residents to share with others how they are staying artsy by visiting the West Valley Arts Facebook page.

On Wednesdays, WVA invites residents to “Know the West Valley” by getting connected to the many arts organizations in the West Valley. And Fridays look for the council’s “Featured Artist.”

WVA was incorporated as the Cultural Arts Society West in 1969.
