Vintage Vehicles of Sun City, a restoration and social club, is planning a “cabin fever cruise” through care center parking lots between 10 a.m. and noon Wednesday, April 22.

The club is open to all vehicles old or new, including cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, antiques, classics, customs, hot rods, or rat rods that members are looking to restore, preserve, maintain, modify or build.

“After consultation with the staff at the individual homes, we planed a cabin fever cruise through the parking lots past as many windows as we could,” the club explained in a news release about the “cruise” during shelter-in-place conditions due to coronavirus. “We hope to bring a little joy and excitement to their cabin fever existence.”

The schedule for the cabin fever cruise includes:

  • 10 a.m.: Immanuel Care Facility,11301 N. 99th at Desert Cove
  • 10:40 a.m.: Casa Del Rio, 12751 Plaza Del Rio and 94th off Thunderbird
  • 11 a.m.: Wooddale Village, 18616 N. 99th at W. Concho (north of Union Hills)
  • 11:30 a.m.: Sun City Health, 9940 W. Union Hills (at 99th)

The club is also looking to add “cabin fever cruises” in Sun City on April 27 and 30, with details to follow. The club also encourages anyone in charge of a care facility in or near Sun City that would be interested in having the cruise drive by on either of those days should contact Connie Sherman (golfwith-lynn@yahoo.com) or Gary Osier (h2osiers@yahoo.com).
