The North West Valley Veterans Association installed new officers for 2020 at its monthly meeting Jan. 18 at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City.

Officers are nominated and elected yearly from the member organizations. The NWVVA is an organization of 17 North West Valley veterans organizations that meet monthly at Sunland Memorial, and band together to jointly present the Memorial Day and Veterans Day Ceremonies sponsored by Sunland. They retire unserviceable American and Military Flags with due ceremonies at Sunland, and assist each other in fundraising activates and other joint programs.

New Officers taking the oath of office are, from left, vice commander Lee Stewart from American Legion Post 101; commander Mike Elliott from American Legion Post 96; adjutant Larry Leighton from American Legion Post 94; and treasurer George Van de Langeryt from the White Tank Mountain Detachment No. 1246 of the Marine Corps League. Not pictured is Judge Advocate Dan Reilly from VFW Post 10695.
