The Tip Top Dancers welcomes Valerie Moore Colvert as a new instructor to the club. Moore Colvert will teach a Beginning Balancing Ballet class 1 p.m. Fridays in the Marinette Auditorium beginning March 3. This class will be free for the month of March. This beginning ballet focused class will do much more than just ballet. The class will improve balance and flexibility and strengthen and stretch the entire body. Dress to move. Ballet or jazz shoes are preferred, but socks and bare feet are welcome.

Moore Colvert’s first word as a child was “go” and she has been going ever since. She received her bachelor’s degree in dance performance and psychology from Ball State University. She experienced a global dance career performing in Japan, England, Ghana and throughout the United States. She made Chicago her home for 15 years. She co-founded Rebound Dance, a not-for-profit production company, and was resident choreographer for two musical theater companies. She taught ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and modern at various schools in Chicago and her hometown studio in Michigan.

Moore Colvert also fell in love with classical pilates and in 2009 received her comprehensive certification. In 2019, she received the Pilates Method Alliance certificate. She believes anyone and everyone can learn how to dance! And dance class does not just teach dance, but also hard work, leadership, dedication, creativity, the list goes on and on. She currently teaches dance and pilates throughout the West Valley and on Zoom. When not teaching, she loves traveling with her husband and playing with her two dogs.

Moore Colvert will be in attendance at the Tip Top Dancers upcoming open house, 1-2:30 p.m. March 5 at Marinette.
