Thunderbird keeps valuables safe

Posted

Name: Linda Montgomery.

Business name: Thunderbird Mini Storage, a Cox Armored Mini Storage Management Inc. facility, 12800 N. 94th Drive, Peoria; 623-933-6339; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Town/neighborhood: I live in Sun City and work in Peoria.

Personal background highlights: I have been with Thunderbird Mini Storage approximately 10 years.

Professional background highlights: My professional career is vastly varied. A graduate of the University of Texas/Dallas, I have worked as a prime time radio personality, advertising director for a national trade publication, media sales both print and radio, as an independent representative for an importer of exclusive flooring products, decorative tiles and marble in the state of Florida and as a business owner in the same industry. I retired and moved to Sun City and stored my personal possessions at Thunderbird Mini Storage while looking for a home. I accepted a part-time position as a relief manager in 2012.

What I do: My goal is to help our customers find the right storage for their personal items at a rate that is competitive within the market, determine the customer’s actual needs, choosing the unit based on the length of time storage is indicated, listen to our customers’ needs and do my best to comply. Customer service is very important to me.

What I like most about doing business here: I am a people person. I enjoy our senior community and helping our Peoria neighbors and businesses as they make life transitions. Many of our tenants also become lasting friends and return to store again or send family members to our site.

Changes I’d like to see: Sun City is an excellent place to live. When I first moved here, I was told, ”If you are bored in Sun City, it is because you want to be bored!” Sun City has activities for all interests and the weather permits outdoor activities throughout the year.

What am I promoting: Thunderbird Mini Storage has that extra space you need whether it is closet size or larger.

Favorite community cause: Several years ago, Cox Armored corporate office asked each facility to choose a charity. Thunderbird chose Halo Animal Rescue. Halo is a no kill rescue shelter. Halo helps all God’s creatures find a loving forever home.

Interests: When I’m not thinking about how to improve our facility and how to best serve our customers, I like to play golf, paint with watercolors, draw with charcoal and pencil. I’m also a member of the Cactus State Miniature Schnauzer Club and Northwest Valley Women’s Club. Socializing with friends is also a high priority.

My family: My family lives in the South, but the Cox Armored team serves as my family away from family.

People who inspire me: I am inspired by people who take adversity as a stepping stone toward the next phase in their Life’s journey.

My guiding philosophy: “To thine own self be true.”
