I was very disappointed in your article (“McAdam gets boot from board,” Sun City Independent, July 7, 2021) about McAdam being removed from the Recreation Centers of Sun City board.

Swenson: Reason for Sun City rec board member removal not accurate

Posted

I was very disappointed in your article (“McAdam gets boot from board,” Sun City Independent, July 7, 2021) about McAdam being removed from the Recreation Centers of Sun City board.

You stated that the reason she was removed was a conflict of interest because she played pickleball. That is untrue, and this assertion by McAdam was rebuffed by the board. She was removed because she inappropriately advocated for one sport. And at that same meeting it was brought up this was not her first time of showing a conflict of interest.

From your coverage, I wondered if you had actually been there. Because it sounded as if your article was written solely after an interview with McAdam.

You can do better.
