Sundial Men’s Club supports CAN

The Sundial Men’s Club donated $5,000 to Sun City’s Community Assistance Network last month.

The club is able to raise this money by running the Thursday night Bingo games, which are held September through May.

Club president Jerry Hafner said the past season was very successful for the players and the club. Attendance averaged 550 players per week, and 45 Men’s Club volunteers.

Helping charities in Sun City that provide benefits to those in need is a primary mission of the Men’s Club and CAN estimates there are approximately 3,900 residents in Sun City living below the poverty line. CAN helps these individuals by providing many services, helping people apply for federal, state and local programs such as discounts for prescription drugs, food stamps, Medicare and Social Security.

CAN also helps all residents with property tax matters, income tax preparation and property tax refunds. CAN helps low-income residents with free installation of fire department lock boxes, EPCOR condo rebate program, utility bill discounts and exterior house painting.

And services are provided free of charge.

To learn more about all the services CAN provides, or to help support this charity, visit suncitycan.org, stop by at 10195 W. Coggins Drive or call 623-933-7530.
