Residents new and old were able to learn more about all Sun City has to offer at the Recreation Centers of Sun City New Member Orientation Jan. 15 at Sundial Recreation Center.
“It’s a terrific opportunity for people coming to this community to see all the amenities and clubs and facilities available to them here,” said Tom Foster, president of the board.
Some even find their next home. Nancy Davis, of Sun City, escorted a friend, Jerome Hehn, through the event. Hehn said he has been all over Arizona visiting friends and determining where he wanted to move. That decision has been made.
“This is the place for me,” he said. “I’m hooked because I like to stay active and everyone I’ve met has been very accomodating, helpful and friendly. I had no idea Sun City has so much to offer.”
In addition to the usual clubs, amenities, services and other information available, the RCSC included an area for the TriArc architect team to gather input from residents on what they believe is most important in the Mountain View Recreation Center renovation project.
“We want the input from the community and not everyone comes to the meetings,” said Rick Gray, board member. “This is just another opportunity for them to have their opinions known.”
