Sun City residents will be able to receive COVID-19 vaccinations in their own community this week.
Recreation Centers of Sun City, Maricopa County Public Health and Embry Health officials reached an agreement for a popup vaccination clinic in Sun City. The event will begin Tuesday, March 9 and run through Monday, March 15 at Sundial Center, 14801 N. 103rd Ave., according to an email notification from RCSC officials.
However, those getting vaccinations must have an appointment. To make an appointment, call 480-376-2170 or visit https://app.backstagemedical.co/widgets/#/schedule-appointment?pId=9567&widgetType=allopen&typeId=1527&count=300. If residents call, they should choose option for any COVID-19 matters and hold for a live person. Residents can also text the number as an alternative, providing their name, date of birth and description of the issue and an Embry representative will respond directly.
The clinic, which will provide the Moderna vaccine, will be a drive-through event. Accommodations will also be available for those without a vehicle or golf car, according to the RCSC announcement.
RCSC officials are providing the space for the vaccinations but will not be involved in conducting the event and cannot assist residents regarding scheduling appointments for the vaccine. Residents who have questions are urged to call Embry Health at 480-376-2170.
