My husband and I have been living in Sun City for 11 years. We dutifully paid our Recreation Centers of Sun City assessment fees each year. We have seen the increases and although we did not use the many facilities available, that was our choice.
Now, we are moving to a retirement community in Sun City. When we went to the RCSC office to change our address, we were told that despite the $575 rec fee we paid last November, we may not be able to use the remaining balance once we sell our property at Willowbrook.
Instead, the balance of our $575 would be returned on a prorated basis, and we would be charged $350 per person to use all facilities, $700 per year! Who has the final authority on that? Why wasn’t the community informed?
I am not recommending any person to live in Sun City. Too bad, it once was a wonderful place to retire.
