Sun City Visitor & Welcome Center celebrates anniversary with new name

Posted

The Sun City Visitor & Welcome Center, located within the Bell Recreation Center, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a nod to its unique history, and a soft launch of a new name.

“Welcome” has been added to the name, highlighting a key role that volunteers and RCSC staff members provide to prospective, current and even long-time Sun City residents and cardholders: welcoming and helping members and cardholders learn about all of the unique and special amenities and activities they can enjoy to enhance their lives.

In addition, the passionate group of volunteers have been renamed as a group to honor the original volunteers who started it all: The Ambassadors.

The center’s Ambassadors can answer questions, share stories about their positive experiences at the RCSC and guests can take home a wide selection of materials featuring clubs, recreation centers and community support.

Historic news clippings donated to the Sun City Visitor & Welcome Center by the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum are being shared on the RCSC’s Facebook page — facebook.com/suncityarizona — to celebrate the renewed history.

You will see our name change to advertise that we have a strong group of Ambassadors, many of whom have lived in Sun City for decades and are very skilled at welcoming new RCSC members/cardholders and helping all members identify opportunities to live their best life here. Our team is truly a “welcome wagon” to new members and offer a lot of value to any prospective or current resident seeking resources and to learn about amenities to live their ideal lifestyle.

The center encourages and welcomes prospective, new and even long-term residents to come to the Sun City Visitor & Welcome Center at 16824 N. 99th Ave., 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. The center is temporarily testing later hours on Tuesdays, when Ambassadors are available until 6 p.m. to assist.
