Sun City Ukulele Club introduces ‘Summer Stummer’ program

Posted

The Sun City Ukulele Club is active all summer thanks to eight song leaders and five bass players who have taken on the responsibility of leading the club’s 3 p.m. Thursday jams at the Fairway Recreation Center.

The Sun City Ukulele Club’s “Summer Stummer” program is coordinated by volunteer leaders Mike Schiff, program leader Ginny Steenstra, Sharon Raimann and Sandy Mitchell. Besides scheduling the jam leaders, they coordinate the sound set-up, music projection and the various administrative tasks required.

A special orientation workshop for potential new members is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in the Fairway Center music room. Learn about the club, learn some chords and sing some songs. No previous experience needed. Ukuleles will be provided for those who do not have one.

The Sun City Ukulele Club is open to all RCSC cardholders.

Visit scukes.org or contact club president Trudy Bryson at 480-278-3780 or Trudybryson@cox.net for more information.
