The Sun City Sings! mixed chorus is preparing for its inaugural concert, “Peace, Hope, and Love,” which will take place 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd.
The members of this newly-formed group are full of enthusiasm and excitement, and they are eager to share their music with the community.
Carol Fagerlund is having fun, saying, “I’ve been searching for a quality singing group since COVID. I found what I was looking for in Sun City Sings! Thanks to the folks who have combined resources and early dedication, to create an atmosphere of cooperation and the desire to strive for excellence.”
Ray Mahoney adds, “Sun City Sings! has such a big sound. The songs chosen for our first Christmas concert are not only beautiful, but also challenging. I’m learning a lot about music, and it’s a thrill to be transported by the harmonies while having fun.”
Charlotte Maxey notes the excitement of being part of this new group, saying, “It’s amazing to watch two incredibly talented professionals build this ensemble from the ground up—and to be a part of it.”
Guided by artistic director Roy Spicer, this concert is free to the public. A $10 donation is suggested.
