Residents of Sun City: Do you enjoy any or some of the pools, fitness rooms, walking tracks, entertainment, mini-golf, bowling, golf, myriad clubs or even pickleball?
Are you happy with how the rec centers are doing? Do you attend Recreation Centers of Sun City board, exchange or committee meetings, or do you watch the recordings on YouTube?
Did you know the highest number of votes any member on the current RCSC board received was around 1,800? We’re a community of about 32,000, so why is there such a low number of people voting for the board?
It has been said at some meetings that those who don’t attend or watch the meetings are apathetic. There is a very loud minority that will push agendas that you may or may not like. Have there been mistakes? Yes. Have some been corrected? Yes. Do more things need fixing? Doubtless.
Since I retired and began attending meetings, I’ve noticed people love to complain. I read once that if a customer is pleased, 3% will tell their friends. But if a customer is displeased, 33% will share their complaints with anyone whose ear they can grab. It is my belief that many people are in the silent 97%.
I implore you to attend the annual meeting March 11, 2025, at Sundial Auditorium. Registration starts at 5 p.m. and doors will close at 6 p.m. You will need to show your photo RCSC card for entry and you’ll want time to get a seat, so please arrive early. Don’t let the loud minority speak for you.
