Through the efforts and leadership of new member Ray Schiel, the Sun City Players Community Theater is presenting semimonthly classes for the Reader’s Theater Ensemble throughout the summer.

Sessions will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays at the Fairway Recreation Center, 10600 W. Peoria Ave., first in Arizona Rooms 3 and 4 June 29 and then in Arizona Rooms 1 and 2 July 13, July 27, Aug. 10, Aug. 24, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14.

Reader’s Theater is where actors perform a script by reading aloud from a written text without having to memorize lines or use elaborate sets. Reader’s Theater affords each participant the opportunity for creative expression, memory enhancement, entertainment, enjoyment, social interaction and community connection.

Reader’s Theater Ensemble is open to both Sun City Players members and Sun City non-members, the latter of whom may attend two classes/events for free before having to join. RSVP for any or all session dates ahead of time to Ray Schiel at 323-336-5437 or scpct.rte@gmail.com.
