Sun City Players announce auditions
THEATER

Auditions for the Sun City Players Community Theater’s production of “Suite Surrender” will be 1-4 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Mountain View Recreation Center, 9749 N. 107th Ave.
The play is a comedy-farce with roles for five women and four men and centers around the hilarity and consequence of two of 1942’s biggest divas unknowingly occupying adjoining rooms in the same Palm Beach hotel suite. Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendrés and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles rounds out this riot of a love note to the farces of the ‘30s and ‘40s.
Only residents and RCSC cardholders in Sun City are eligible to audition. Membership in the club is required to audition. Annual dues are $5 and are payable at the time of audition.
Performance dates are Nov. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21, with a special preview performance Nov. 5.
Director Dan See will ask performers to read excerpts from the script at the auditions. Scripts are available for review by contacting See at dansee76@yahoo.com or 623-266-9288.
“Suite Surrender” is the first show being produced by the Players Club since it was shut down due to the COVID pandemic in March of 2020. The group is excited about bringing live theater back to Sun City.
Season tickets for the season are available online for $25 for three shows (“Suite Surrender,” “Don’t Talk to the Actors” and “Murder on the Menu”) at suncityplayerscommunitytheater.org. Single show tickets go on sale Sept. 21 online.
