Maestro George Zoske, right, recently passed the baton to the new director of the Sun Cities Community Orchestra, Clark Chaffee. Zoske may be stepping aside as the director of the Sun Cities Community Orchestra, but the conductor and trombonist will continue to play an active role in the musical life of the West Valley. Zoske moved to Arizona in 1997 following a 40-year career in Wisconsin as a music educator, symphony trombonist and conductor of school pit orchestras, community theater musicals and handbell choirs. Upon retirement, his experience resulted in an invitation to conduct the Sun City Chamber Orchestra (now the Sun Cities Community Orchestra); he also led the Sun City Concert Band for 14 years. Zoske will continue to add to his musical legacy as director of the Christo Handbell Choir at American Lutheran Church and as a trombonist with the Sun City All Stars Big Band and with the orchestra.
