The arts and crafts clubs at the Bell Recreation Center hosted a Western Spring Fling Festival April 10, which was open to the public and featured a bake sale, demonstrations, hands-on make n’ takes and raffles were held.
All clubs opened their doors and set up tables outside displaying the skills of club members. Sports clubs for softball and miniature golf also participated; miniature golf members set up putting green runs. The Maricopa County Library, Posse and Sun City Visitors Center had tables set up with information available for all guests as well.
Hells Gate Hot Dogs brought in their mobile trailer and served hot dogs with a choice of several toppings and Ginny Steenstra, a Ukulele club member, opened the event by playing the ukulele and singing the first hour. Music was then provided by Sun City Arizona Radio.
St. Vincent De Paul collection boxes were in place throughout the event for collections of donated personal hygiene items for those in need. Bell Ceramics will continue to accept these items until May 7.
