Nancy Snyder was an active member of the Sun City Handweavers and Spinners Guild since 2011. She shared her love of weaving with her sister and then joined the guild to share it with members.
Snyder not only made friends, wove beautifully and helped new weavers to succeed, she also lead the Hospitality Committee, which was one of her greatest pleasures, serving people.
The guild was previously in the process of purchasing a new 32”, 8 shaft table loom on a stand, which would help members with mobility difficulties to continue to weave and would be available for members for a long time. With Snyder’s passing in 2024, her family reached out to the Handweavers and Spinners Guild to see if they could donate funds to the guild. Members accepted their donation to cover the cost of the loom, plus accessories, and created Snyder’s loom.
Upon assembly, a framed picture and plaque have been placed on the loom in Snyder’s honor and now members are weaving items on her loom.
