Sun City club pays it forward

Posted

The Marinette Clay Corner membership is comprised of artists who create pottery pieces while encouraging creativity, artistry and support for each other. Another major goal of the club is to share that support and pay it forward within the Sun City community.

In 2024, the club presented donations to three local organizations that provide a variety of services, enrichment to the quality of life or lend a helping hand to the community.

The Sun City Community Assistance Network’s mission is to connect low-income senior residents of Sun City with resources to enhance their standard of living. Their services include benefits assistance, free legal consultations, Maricopa County Tax Assessors Office assistance, free income tax preparation, property tax refunds and filing amended tax returns.

Visit suncitycan.org or call 623-933-7530.

The mission of the PRIDES is to assist Maricopa County in keeping Sun City a clean place in which to live and work. The PRIDES are neighbors, volunteering with services that include trimming shrubs and trees, pruning and painting trees, painting over graffiti and painting guardrails.

Visit suncityprides.org or call 623-972-6558.

Sunshine Service Inc. aims to fulfill Sun City residents’ needs by lending a variety of durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, canes, walkers and crutches. If family is coming to visit, they can lend household items like roll away beds, highchairs, strollers, Pack ‘n Play and other useful items.

Visit sunshineservice.org or call 623-974-2561.

The Marinette Clay Corner is a full-service pottery studio located in the Marinette Center, 9860 W. Union Hills Drive. Visitors are welcome to tour the club and courtyard. Membership available to RSCS card holders only.
